Remember: Earl “The GOAT” Manigault

If you ever picked up a basketball you should know the name, Earl Manigault. Growing up in Harlem,  Manigault had remarkable leaping ability. Mentored by the famous Holcombe Rucker (Rucker Park), he never stood a chance constantly finding himself in more and more trouble. Being kicked out of high school, later eventually making it to college before being dismissed after one semester. Earl was rumored to be able to put 4 quarters atop a backboard and then leap up place a dollar up there and grab the change thus, making change in one single leap. His most famous on the court move was the double dunk. In one single move he would dunk the ball, grab it again in his left hand, switch to his right hand, bring it back around and dunking it through again, without hanging on the rim. The legend is known to many including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Earl Monroe, and Connie Hawkins as the “Greatest Of All Time,”  who feel he is well deserved of that title after playing him. There is very little footage of the GOAT while he was alive but there is a movie “Above The Rim,” which I highly suggest. Respect and peace to the greatest unknown to this generation.
