“Bouncing Cats”, a film by Nabil Elderkin is not only an inspiring story of one man’s dream but a whole nations. The idea of creating a much better life for the youth of Uganda, may seem like an impossible task. Hip-Hop and b-boy breakdancing have been unlikely tools used, to help this nation and its culture. B.P.U. stands for Breakdance Project Uganda, and was formed by Abraham “Abramz” Tekya. The project helps show a ray of light to a troubled nation and their youth. Breakdancing gives them an outlet when times are rough. The film which features narration by Common and interviews with Will-I-Am, Mos Def, and K’Naan. After watching the trailer, you can’t tell me hip-hop is dead, it is very much alive and this is living proof.
